The Human Design transits forecast for 18th-24th July are bringing us some different and competing energies! After a big week of individual energy last week and today Tuesday July 18th, we’re being invited to focus on your community and how you exist within it. On Thursday 20th July, alongside the 3-60, we are collectively defined with the 37-40 channel of community through to July 28th.
This week the sun moves into gate 56 (one of my personal favourite gates) and we have a short experience of channel 29-46, the channel of discovery (one of my personal favourite channels)!

Pressure Centers & Transits
We glide into this Tuesday 18th with both pressure centers defined, continuing the 3-60, 61-24 experience from last week.
The defined root center brings the pressure to act. The defined head brings the pressure to think, or more precisely to think about the meaning of life.
The 18th July brings both of these pressures which can feel a little uncomfortable, especially if these centers are undefined in your personal chart.
This often manifests as attempting to do or act in order to avoid the mental pressure of thinking. As if doing will solve the pressure. And while this can sometimes be true, it very often is not. Today you may find yourself 5 steps down a path you never wanted to be on before even really noticing, because you used action to attempt to avoid the mental pressure (often showing up as overwhelm).
You can reflect upon, how can I support myself in thinking but not doing? Is this action a response to my authority? Am I feeling externally pressured to do/move? How does stillness serve me?
Human Design Transits forecast 18th-24th July Theme: Community, Expression & Telling a GREAT story!
On Wednesday 19th July, the sun moves in gate 56, the gate of stimulation in the throat. This is part of the 11-56 channel of curiosity. The role of this gate is to tell a story that makes other people want to listen, a true storyteller. I often call this gate the “let me get another drink” gate, because when someone with a high placement of gate 56 starts talking, you’re gonna want another drink while you sit and listen!
Gate 56 is part of the sensing, collective, circuitry. Therefore the stories are based on personal experience, or reflections from the past, not fact and logic. Even further than this gate 56 shares to provide an experience to the listener. This gate uses metaphor, exaggeration, floral language and drama to share their wisdom. The goal is to elicit an emotional response from the listener.
It’s usually quite easy to pick a person with gate 56 out in a room due to their natural flair for sharing a great story. But it’s important to remember that the facts and the minutia aren’t the point here. A gate 56 story will very loosely follow the plot of reality but the point is to get their point across.
Theme: Expression Over Reality
So as we move through the next 6 or so days with gate 56 you may experience stories from others that aren’t exactly the truth, but make their point. You may find yourself indulging in some dramatic retelling and exaggeration. I say, go for it! Allow yourself to express flamboyantly.
However, as this is an ajna to throat channel, it is projected. Therefore you may wish to wait for recognition or an invitation before diving into a fabulously dramatic retelling of your day.
You can ponder over, where am I recognized in sharing my experiences? Who honours my inspirations and the way I see the world? Where do I dampen my expression to suit the needs of overs? How can I be a little more bold and dramatic today?
Thursday 20th July brings us collective definition in the 37-40, channel of community. The channel of community is an emotional channel connecting the solar plexus to the heart center, part of the tribal circuity.
This channel holds the energy of a contract and is very focused on “what am I doing for you and what are you doing for me in return?”.
The 37-40 has a yearning to understand where it fits into the wider community and then live out that purpose. In order to live happily it must create expectations/contracts with the correct people who are willing to return the favour.
Often called the channel of marriage or divorce, this channel needs to feel like it is an equitable part of the community process. This fairness creates a space of harmony for all.
It may be a good time to reflect upon, am I upholding my end of the bargain in my close relationships? Where is there some inequality in my connections? Are all my agreements clear?
The Community ratchet emotional wave
The channel of community is part of the tribal emotional wave channels. This manifests as a ratchet wave which builds through small peaks and troughs before experiencing a blow out at the top and falling back to neutral.
These small builds and drops are often connected to someone in your life and some expectation/agreement you have with them. These small inconveniences, inequalities, continue until there is a big explosion of emotion at the top. This is often where the agreement is renegotiated.
An example I always use is this, a member of your family always throws their dirty socks next to the laundry basket. On Monday you pick them up and put them in the basket. Tuesday you pick them up and put them in the basket. Wednesday you politely ask them to place them in the basket. Thursday and Friday you put them in the basket yourself. Saturday you blow up at them about the socks and they respond, “you’re mad about a pair of socks?”
“It’s not about the socks!”
This is how the “build and blow” ratchet wave works. Because for you, it’s not just about the socks. It’s about the broken agreement. It’s about you carrying your end of the bargain and not being met in the middle. The best way to navigate this is to not just let all the little things go. It is important to communicate with your community what is happening, how it affects you and what can be done to continue a relationship of fairness.
So you may wish to ask yourself, where have I been letting little things go? What small issues can be addressed before they become big issues? Or on the other side, where have I been creating some inequalities and what can I do to right them?
Sunday 23rd July brings us a quick stop into the 29-46, channel of discovery. This channel connects the sacral to the G center and is part of the sensing collective circuit. The channel of discovery has the power of the sacral and the determination of spirit of the G.
This channel must surrender to life in order to truly experience it and everything it has to offer. The 29-46 brings us the energy to continually say yes to life regardless of whether we succeed or fail. This is where luck is truly created.
Success = Commitment + Determination – Channel 29-46
On Sunday you are being invited to examine your experience of success. This channel teaches that success is found when you don’t give up. Success is inevitable as long as you continue with commitment and determination. It is how we continue to show up for life that makes you lucky. The more you show up, the luckier you become.
You can noodle upon, how am I already lucky in my life? How can I show up without expectation and bask in what life has to offer? How can I just “allow” life to unfold? Am I overthinking and getting in my own way? What one thing can I do today to “show up for life”?
