This week in the Human Design transits forecast for 26/12-01/01, we begin the week with the sun in gate 58 with a reflector definition. We move collectively in and out of the 39-55, channel of emoting. before it shifts to gate 10, the gate of the direction of the self. We spend another couple of days with the 43-23, before moving through the 20-10, channel of awakening and the 35-36, channel of transitoriness, each for a single day. On Monday 26th December, the sun moves into gate 58, another of my faves, the gate of vitality.

We spend the next few days with the sun in the root gate, 58 of vitality. Gate 58, the gate of vitality, is located in the root center and is the start of a logical experience in the collective circuit. This is where the pressure, the drive, begins to get out there and see how perfect we can make life!
The traditional I-Ching describes this hexagram as the lake, deep and full of life, but also with the ability to reflect life through itself. This gate brings the joy of being in life, of loving life enough to try and make our experience even better!
The energy to challenge
Gate 58 loves to seek out challenges. It is here to challenge the patterns of life we are playing out, in order to find a better, more efficient, more vital way. This can also be seen as challenging authority, those in power, but at its root it seeks to challenge the patterns that are limiting the way we live collectively.
As humans we very naturally challenge the things around us, and begin to manipulate them in pursuit of perfection. We prune fruit trees, we domesticate animals, this is a primal human experience.
The key for gate 58 is that it is rooted in the love of life. If not it can come off as a little pessimistic, dissatisfied, as if nothing is ever good enough. The love, the desire for vitality is what grounds this energy, keeps it alive.
As with all root gates, gate 58 is a build up of pressure it is not always on. But when the energy hits it must be released, it must be allowed to play out in the world, to seek challenge, change and perfection.
This week you may want to ask yourself, where am I dissatisfied? Can I bring the love in? What do I know can be fixed? What challenges have I been avoiding? How am I allowing myself to challenge life? Where can I see challenge as a growth experience? What does it look like to love life?

Human Design transits forecast 26/12-01/01 Theme: empowerment, the fight and being in your moods
On Wednesday 27th January, we see definition in the 39-55 for one day. This definition comes back on the 31st December and carries us into the New Year as the sun shifts to gate 38.
A moment for this INCREDIBLE definition! The 39-55, channel of emoting, and gate 38 the gate of the fighter as we move into 2024. *Chefs kiss* is all I have to say about that!
Both gate 38 and gate 39 are the beginnings of the individual process starting in the root. Gate 38 is bringing the fuel to find the correct fight, while 39 is bringing to emotional fuel to find the correct people to resonate with. So this transit is really asking you to reflect on yourself, your needs, your desires and ensure that you’re doing this all FOR you.
Moving into the 1st of January asking, what in life feels correct for me? Where am I jumping on a bandwagon I know isn’t correct? Am I cruising in an easy lane when I know it isn’t mine? What do I want to fight for? Who feels correct to spend this coming year with?
It’s a huge invitation to focus on yourself. Which is GORGEOUS!
wakening to yourself
But moving onto the 39-55, channel of emoting. This is bringing us collectively into a design of moodiness. This is an individual channel moving from the root center to the Solar Plexus and it is intensely emotional. It is combining the root pressure with the individual spike energy of this circuit to create an emotional experience which must be recognized and accepted.
Thinking of the larger theme of the individual circuitry that is self-empowerment, this channel invites you to be empowered in your emotional expression without trying to control it. This channel brings the energy of moods, asking yourself, am I in the mood? Or, what am I in the mood for? Allowing your emotional state to guide your life and your movements.
It is in this empowered emotional state that you can begin to feel who is correct for you emotionally. When you can accept your moods, and allow them to serve you (not hinder you), you will slowly see who is emotionally resonant with you. It is your ability to hold yourself in your moods, powerfully and healthily, that will connect you to those who are also ready to deepen into their own emotional expression. Asking, can you be in your moods? Can we be in our moods? Can you hold me in my moods?This is a good day to reflect on, who is willing to witness my life experiences and support me in my individual process? Or how am I not allowing my true emotional expression and thus limiting my ability to truly relate to others?
It’s all in the timing.
On New Years Eve, 31st December, the sun shifts into gate 38, still in the root, and the gate of the fighter. Richard Rudd describes this gate as those who are “at their best when up against odds”. In this gate the vitality for life, (moving towards the spleen) comes from the ability to fight for something. It is natural and healthy to have something to fight for in this gate.
And as we move into the new year this is a fabulous opportunity to reflect upon, what have I been fighting for? Am I fighting losing battles? What gives me energy and purpose to fight for? Where would I like to direct my fight for the coming year?
The energy of opposition
Gate 38 brings us the energy of opposition, similar to gate 58 and the energy to challenge. This gate brings you the energy to show up in life stronger and healthier because you are willing to fight for something.
Again this is the individual circuitry, so it’s bringing the energy to fight for your own unique path, your individual and new way of being yourself. This energy is the very opposite of “jumping on the bandwagon”. Gate 38 would rather set fire to the bandwagon and take off alone through the woods, just to prove their individuality.
But what is so very important here is that the vitality comes from the fight. Because it is in the fight that gate 38 proves their own strength and continues to grow. When in alignment gate 38 will be drawn towards opportunities that will release this pressure to fight. So that you can thrive and to affirm your own individual capacity to survive
The bottom of the matter is that gate 38 must fight! This pressure must go somewhere and of it is not given a healthy release it can turn inwards, creating a potentially diseaseful outcome for the physical body.

However, this is just the energy to fight. There is no awareness with this hanging gate, so you may find yourself this coming week being a little extra fighty. Being willing to oppose something or someone just for the potential vitality of the fight.
As someone with gate 38, I can fight for anything. I have the energy to fight you, because the fight itself is thrilling. However used incorrectly this can also be exhausting and potentially damaging.
So take a few deep breaths this week and ask, is this worth fighting for? Can I let this one go? Is there any potential vitality here for me?
And more broadly, what feels good to fight for? Where am I willing to oppose something? Where have I been ignoring my need to fight for something?
