This week in the Human Design transits forecast for 24th-30th December 2024 (24/12-30/12) the sun shifts into gate 58, the gate of vitality, in the root center. We are also visited by the 57-10, channel of perfected form, and the 9-52 channel of concentration. And of course we stick with the channel of transitoriness, 36-35 throughout the week.

With a design of a jack of all trades, the channel of transitoriness collectively carried you (and your loved ones) through this festive period. This channel connects gate 36, gate of crisis, to gate 35, the gate of change. The keynotes for this channel are all about getting into life and squeezing every last drop of wisdom out of it. A Jack of all trades becomes one because it is willing to give everything a try! And we can only do this without a huge amount of expectation. Because expectation is just delayed disappointment!
What a wonderful idea to hold at the forefront as we enter this holiday period. Regardless of how, or if, you’re celebrating, this is a period littered with expectations. When each expectation is not met, the “expector” can go through a crisis of sorts.
Crisis comes in all forms
Crisis in this context does not have to be on a huge scale. We’re not talking death, famine or natural disaster. Each crisis is usually an expectation NOT met. As small as “my dinner is colder than I’d like” or “I wanted this jumper in teal not blue”. Therefore each little unmet expectation sends you on a little emotional wave. And what the feeler needs here is time. To be witnessed in their experience and met in the feelings when needed.
So be prepared for a collection of crises to rear up at any holiday party or family gathering. Arming yourself with phrases such as, “that sucks, I’m sorry it didn’t go how you expected”. Potentially asking, “what do you need to feel supported right now?” or the ages old, “want to get a drink and talk about it?”
The change, the growth and progress of this channel can only come after the experience. So all experiences are welcomed but ensure you create space for yourself to process it before making any decisions. And be aware that those around you may be more inclined to jump into a decision, or say something they don’t necessarily mean, based upon an emotional experience. But it’s not about you, it’s just the 36-35 doing it’s thing!

Human Design transits forecast 24/12-30/12 Theme: crisis, connection & challenging life.
On Tuesday 24th December, you are defined in the 57-10, from the spleen to the G center. With the sun still in gate 10, the behaviour of the self, gate 57 brings the intuition to create the channel of perfected form. Through following your intuition, and trusting in life itself, you begin to pour yourself into the world in the most individually perfect way.
This energy is grounded in physical vitality, supported by following your unique design. In order to hear this intuitive wisdom, you must be able to surrender to your strategy and authority, relaxing into life. You may want to ask, where can I slow down and be quiet? How can I create space to just be and just listen? What would it feel really good to surrender to right now?
The gate of vitality – root centre
On Wednesday 25th December, the sun shifts into gate 58, the gate of vitality. I’ve said this a lot recently, but this is an absolute favourite of mine again! Located in the root center, gate 58 is the fuel to get out into life with the explicit purpose of making it better. Gate 58 is seeking perfection in life.
For those I love, gate 58 shows up as excitement to do things, to experience life! And this is such a beautiful energy to be around. Gate 58 is not necessarily aware of the purpose of this fuel to perfect our collective experience, and can be interpreted as a simple lust for life!
I think this is a gorgeous energy to carry us collectively (almost) into the New Year. You may want to ask yourself, what am I excited for? What does it mean to truly live life? How can I express how perfect life already is through my decisions?
Perfection brings the need to challenge.
As gate 58 is seeking perfection it is often found challenging life. You may find yourself being extra critical of the traditions around you this season. Maybe, you notice what could be tweaked or adjusted to make it even more perfect. You could ponder over, what am I noticing that I haven’t before? Where am I dissatisfied? Are there people/traditions/ideas that need challenging that I am avoiding?
The traditional I-Ching for this hexagram is just gorgeous too. The i-ching describes gate 58 as the lake, deep and full of life, overflowing with perfection. But on the surface we also find the ability to reflect life. The ability to see life through our own experiences with the purpose of making the reflection even more beautiful.
And I know holidays can be rough. It’s a good time to allow yourself to noodle on, where is my life beautiful? What can I see that is already so perfect? And, with what I know is perfect, how can I reflect this is the way I live life?
the channel of concentration
The channel of concentration, 9-52, joins the transits on Saturday December 28th for a single day. As one of the format channels, 9-52 connects the sacral to the root center, and begins the logical collective process.
This channel brings the sacral power and the root fuel to stay the course through the ability to focus on what is needed. However to access this energy the timing must be right (with the root pressure) and it must be rooted in something that lights you up. Without the satisfaction or joy coming from the sacral, you might not feel able to complete the task at hand.
Today is a good day to reflect upon, where have I lost the joy? What little tweaks can I make to invite satisfaction back into this?
The channel of concentration is the most effective and satisfying when focuses on one thing at a time. Over this “who knows what day it is” Christmas to New Year period, you might want to think about, where am I doing too much? How is doing many things not allowing me to feel satisfied in anything?
