This week in the Human Design transits forecast for 21st-27th January 2025 (21-27/01/25) the sun moves into gate 41, the gate of contraction. You are defined all week with the 36-35 channel of transitoriness (but don’t worry a reprieve is coming!) The genius to freak channel, 43-23, joins the transits for a single day. The sun clicks over to gate 19, the gate of sensitivity as we move into the new week on Monday.

On Wednesday 22nd January, the sun shifts from gate 60 in the root, to gate 41 in the same centre. The gate of contraction brings the fuel to move towards feelings. As part of the same stream as the channel of transitoriness, gate 41 brings the root fuel to go out into the world and experience something new. And with each new experience we are sure to experience a new feeling.
This gate is actually the first codon of the rave new year and signals a new year in the Human Design world.
This is the gate where everything begins!
It is the urge to feel, that moves us into life’s flow, and allows all things to exist. This is where feelings and experiences begin to emerge.
It might feel good to ask yourself, what do I want to begin? What energy do I want to move into the next year with? Which feelings do I desire to create?
The pressure to fantasize
The root pressure builds up here in the form of fantasy. The energy comes when you create a fantasy and move into life in search of it. The key here is narrowing down which fantasy do you move towards. You can have a thousand fantasies and the majority are meant to stay just so. But finding which fantasy drives you into life is the key here.
And for this is, it is imperative that you follow your strategy and authority. Without your authority speaking, gate 41 brings only the hunger, the yearning to feel. But it does not provide the energy to push through the entire experience.
Maybe ask yourself, what fantasies am I holding? Which fantasies feel good to move forwards? Do I allow myself to fantasize enough?
The name contraction, comes from the ability to wait, to pull closer, to shrink down the fantasies, before catapulting out into life.
And as part of the stream of feeling, this is where the expansive nature of the 36-35 begins! As I’ve mentioned many times since the 36-35 became defined this energy must complete the cycles it begins. And with this week’s placements it is even more important that you enter into cycles you can finish, and stick the course once you’re in them.
You can ask yourself, am I ready to ride this whole cycle? Have I learned my lesson? Do I have the energy to step into a whole new experience?

Human Design transits forecast 21-27/01/25 Theme: Fantasy, expression & taking your time
On Thursday 23rd January, we’re joined by the channel of structuring, 43-23 from the ajna to the throat, for a single day.
(This week is feeling a WHOLE lot like me! All of these placements are naturally mine. So if this week feels like a lot, you’re getting a little snapshot of what it feels like to be me!)
The ever loved genius to freak, channel of structuring, is the place where individuality bursts spontaneously into the world through the throat. Depending on the audience and the timing, you can be labelled a genius or a complete weirdo. This channel is attempting to structure new, innovative and mutative material in order to share it. And it doesn’t always get that right.
Today you might need to be deeply determined to get your message across. This might involve taking time to think over how you might express yourself. It might look like attempting to say it more than once. So feel free to take the time and don’t get too down on yourself if you get a few weird looks the first time you share.
But in the same breath, some weird thoughts just want to be shared. They just want to be given a voice. So indulge yourself in just speaking without thinking if that feels good. Knowing that the response was never really the point. The point was to get it out into the world!
Determination to try again
However with the emotional definition of the 36-35 and the need to structure and restructure with the 43-23, today you’re being invited to take your time. Maybe pondering, where do I need to take some time for myself? Am I moving faster than feels enjoyable? Can I create space to listen to my authority? Where am I invited to share? How is waiting the most supportive action in my life today?
Today you might need to be deeply determined to get your message across. This might involve taking time to think over how you might express yourself. It might look like attempting to say it more than once. So feel free to take the time and don’t get too down on yourself if you get a few weird looks the first time you share.
