This week in the Human Design transits forecast for 7th-13th January 2025 (07-13/01/25) the sun moves through the gate of ambitions, gate 54. Obviously we’re continuing to be defined with the 36-35, channel of transitoriness, and we’ll be joined by the format channel 42-53. Then the sun moves into gate 61 in the head, gate of mystery, on Saturday 11th January.

The sun moved into gate 54 on Sunday 5th January. The gate of ambition is found in the root center and is part of the tribal circuit. As the fuel gate in the 54-32, channel of transformation, moving towards the spleen, gate 54 brings the drive to be successful in the material world.
The drive shows up as ambition or a desire to find success. Most often this manifests as a pressure to climb a hierarchy or social ladder in which we hope to find success. However this idea of climbing the ladder may not feel aligned for you, I know it does not for me. Recently, on a HD study call a fellow student reframed this gate as the fuel of aspirations. And this felt much more enjoyable for me, I hope it does for you too.
As we move through this week you can ponder over, what big aspirations do I have for life? What do I desire to leave behind? Where in life can I feel the move towards something more?
How do we create a legacy?
As part of the channel of transformation, gate 54 brings the pulse of energy to create a lasting impact in the world. A legacy that will provide for future generations.
This becomes sticky when we are left with just the fuel, the pulse, the drive, the desire and no awareness. Without gate 32, the gate of continuity, in the spleen you may not know which aspirations have the capacity to leave any lasting impact. You may find yourself starting to climb a ladder or build towards success, and then run out of steam. In this way, you must follow your strategy and authority.
You can reflect upon, where am I no longer invested in a project? What started as a great opportunity but no longer feels aligned? Am I recognised in the legacy I desire to leave?
Gate 54 has a mystical need to transform, to be bigger, to create something that lasts. Indulge yourself this week in the dreams of what spiritual and material ways you desire to be, do and have more. It’s a wonderful energy to dream a little!

Human Design transits forecast 07-13/01/25 Theme: aspirations, the cyle of life & asking the big questions
Tuesday 7th January also brings the channel of maturation to the collective experience. As one of the format channels from the sacral center to the root, the 42-53 is the beginning of the emotional collective experience. This is where you enter into life, ideally in response, in order to live through cycles that will eventually lead to growth. This is the start of the expansive journey through experience and emotions to learn something new about the life we lead.
As the 42-53 is transiting with the 36-35 this theme of being present in your experience will be huge today. You might want to noodle over, what am I missing by focusing only on the goal? What magic can I find right here? How is this moment supporting me and who I am becoming?
The channel of maturation brings the energy to end (42) and begin (53) cycles of experiences. Expansion can only be found when you stick out the whole cycle. And if you’ve lived any life at all, you will probably know first hand that if you do not learn your lesson life will put you back on the same paths until you do. There is an element here of sticking the course until you have fully matured in that area.
This energy reminds us that all endings are really just beginnings.
As with all beginnings, it is important to ensure you’re hopping into the correct experiences. Especially with the collective circuit, when you start a cycle you must finish it. You cannot just opt-out or it will show up again!
So you can think about, am I listening to my authority? Where can I create space to respond, wait, or listen?
The gate of mystery
On Saturday 11th January, the sun moves from the root to the head center and stations in gate 61, the gate of mystery. You know I’m biased by now, but I love this gate! Of course, it is also one of mine.
This is the gate of everything that is unknown or has ever been unknown before!
Gate 61 brings you the mental pressure to think. But specifically to think about all the things we think we know, and everything else that we don’t. It is the pressure to think about what are we even doing here? What is the purpose of life? Have aliens ever really visited earth? Did humans alone build the Pyramids of Giza and Machu Picchu?
The gate of mystery is the beginning of the mental individual process. So the thoughts that arise here are meant to be new and weird and different. They are meant to send you into a new direction of what life could be like. What exists for us outside of what we already know?
As part of the knowing circuit, gate 61 seeks internal, individual knowing. So finding your own new truths will be paramount this week.
You may want to reflect upon, what do I know deep inside? What big questions have I been avoiding? Who loves to debate the big unknown questions of life with me? How can I create space for curiosity this week? Can I enjoy the great mysteries of life without the need to solve them?
