This week in the Human Design transits forecast for 29th August – 4th September, the sun moves into gate 40. Bringing with it the channel of community, 37-40. The channel of mutation 3-60, shows up briefly for 1 day and the sun moves into gate 64, gate of confusion.

How have you been enjoying the space from total 3-60 overwhelm? (I might be projecting? I’m projecting). Hopefully you’ve experienced some wisdom in the aftermath of the intense creative energies we’ve been experiencing.
Maybe you’ve experienced a little less of a pressured existence? Feeling like you can trust your own divine timing?
If you have an undefined root center, you may still be processing and releasing the stress and pressure that this long transit brought. Continuing to reflect upon, is this an external pressure to move? How do I know when my body tells me to move into action?
This week, we also shift into September, and into autumn in the northern hemisphere. Feeling very aligned with the energy of the Human Design transits as we reflect on the summer months and begin to slow down. Taking time to renegotiate our needs and who can fulfil them as we move into quieter, more introspective months moving towards the winter.
Human Design Transits Forecast 29th August – 4th September Theme: Aloneness, Equity and Belonging
Today, Tuesday 29th August the sun moves into gate 40. Gate 40, the gate of aloneness in the heart center, is another of the (you guessed it) gates of aloneness. Along with gate 12 and gate 33, gate 40 always invites the question of “how much alone time is enough?”
The previous 2 gates, located in the throat, are waiting for the correct timing to express the knowings they are carrying. Gate 40 however is located in the heart center, here we see expression through willpower. Gate 40, as part of the tribal circuitry, is seeking to support and provide for its close family, community or kinship. Therefore, gate 40 is asking the question of “how much alone time do I need to show up for you?”
The i’ching keynote here is the breadwinner. Gate 40 has a huge capacity to work and provide. That energy is all coming from the motivation and will power in the heart center. However this energy is not always “on”. The heart center is always seeking the most amount of rest. The most efficient way to create any output. The most efficient breadwinners provide the highest contribution with the least physical output. Therefore allowing them to be emotionally present for their kin too.
Gate 40 is always seeking rest. And the rest needs to be experienced alone to feel the most restful. When gate 40 rests “enough”, it can continue to provide in a very powerful way.
This week’s theme is rest, aloneness and enough time. Inviting you to reflect on, where do I first need to serve myself SO THAT I can serve others? How much rest do I need to do the most efficient work in my life? Who needs to be informed of my need for aloneness?
Do I need to know where I belong? Channel of community
This shift into gate 40 also brings the channel of community, 37-40 from the solar plexus to the heart center, from today until Sunday 3rd September.
The solar plexus is a motor center that creates an internal emotional wave. But it is also the center of relating. The energy of the solar plexus wants to be in life with others. Depending on the circuit group, the emotional center is always seeking experiences (abstract), moods (individual) or support (tribal) with those around them.
The channel of community, being part of the tribal circuitry, brings the theme of support to the week. The 37-40 is the design of a “part seeking a whole”. It needs to know where it fits into the greater picture of its close community. Knowing this allows it to live out it’s true purpose in life.
This week you might ponder over, is the bigger picture important to me? Does knowing where I belong bring me deeper peace/satisfaction/success/delight? Where do I feel like I most easily and authentically belong?
The channel of the marriage (or divorce) contract
The 37-40 is the channel of the marriage contract or the divorce contract and has a deep need for reciprocity in all relationships. It is always thinking, if I agree to do this for you, what do you agree to do for me? It may seem self-focused but there MUST be a bargain struck in order for this energy to work.
When you take a step back and look at successful relationships there is always a bargain. And this bargain must feel equitable (not equal). Both parties must feel supported by the other. There is a need here for recognition of individuals skills, desires and energies, allowing both parties to allocate “the bargain” in a way that feels good. In order for this to happen you must be surrounded by the right people.
You may want to ask, who recognizes me and my individual abilities? Where do I feel I give more than I receive in life? Where do I need to renegotiate my relationships? What feel inequitable to me right now?
The beauty of the 37-40 is that it invites constant renegotiation that is fuelled by love and the desire to support each other. If a relationship feels unfair, you can approach the opportunity to discuss it as a renegotiation, going into each potential conflict asking, “how can we make this work better for both parties?”
A final day with the 3-60
On Sunday 3rd September, we spend a brief day with the channel of mutation, 3-60 (again)! Just a little reminder that life is chaos and living within the chaos is the only way to truly experience life.
On Monday 4th September, the sun moves into gate 64 and we spend a day with no channels and therefore no defined centers in the Human Design transits. This reflector transit sticks around on and off until mid October, giving a few weeks of pure space after an intense period of sacral and root definition.
