If you want to be able to understand your greater purpose in the world, you’ll want to understand your major Human Design Circuitry. In this post I will share how to calculate your major Human Design circuitry and why it’s important.
What is Human Design circuitry?
Human Design circuitry refers to the goal or flavour of the energies in the Human Design bodygraph. Each channel and gate falls into one of the 3 circuit groups.
Individual – carries the theme of self-empowerment, creates new and innovative energy to mutate the collective experience. “I” energy.
Collective – carries the theme of sharing knowledge, is here to course correct the collective to survive and thrive into the future. “We & us” energy.
Tribal/Community – carries the theme of support, pertains to the physical, emotional and material survival of the species by taking care of your close kinship. “Me & mine” energy.
Why is Circuitry Important?
Knowing your major circuitry can help you understand how you were designed to interact with the world around you. As the circuits tell you the themes of each gate and channel, you can begin to build a picture of your major life’s focus and your purpose.
The different energy themes can impact your behaviours, emotions, and relationships.
By understanding your circuitry and the circuitry of those around you, you can gain a deeper understanding of our strengths and challenges, and how you can best navigate your life.
Is there a Human Design circuitry calculator?
There is no specific way to calculate your major Human Design circuitry. Each online system usually shows you your circuitry data in one form or another. The Genetic Matrix option is shown below. This takes into account every gate in your chart and gives you an overall picture of your circuitry themes.
To calculate your major circuitry and give you a more focused look at your energy and life purpose, you will want to focus on 3 different areas.
Incarnation Cross Gates
Your Incarnation Cross in Human Design highlights your greater life purpose. When living in alignment, following your strategy and authority, your incarnation purpose will unfold very naturally in the world.
To calculate this aspect of your major Human Design circuitry, you’ll look at your sun and earth gates on both the personality and design side of your bodygraph. Understanding your Incarnation Cross can provide insight into your unique gifts and strengths, as well as your life purpose and direction. It can also help you better understand the challenges you may face on your life path, and how to navigate them in a way that aligns with you.
You will want to find the circuit that each of your Incarnation Cross gates are in.
Your Human Design Channels & Circuitry
Next you will want to look at your defined channels. Whilst your IC cross is the path your life is playing out, your defined channels are how your energy is consistently moving out into the world.
You may only have 1 channel, or you may have many many more. This continues to build a nuanced picture of your expression in the world.
Big 5 Placements
Finally, you will want to calculate your “Big 5” placements. This is your Sun, Earth, Moon, North & South node gates in red and black. This will give you 10 gates in total.
Here we are bringing in more information. You can carry over your data from your IC cross, highlighting your greater purpose in this life. Your moon placement shows what energy is driving you through this life. The North and South node placements speak to your growth journey from the energy to bring into life (south node) and the energy you are growing into (north node).
Bringing Your Major Circuitry Together
Now you get to bring it all together. You now have the information to create a more nuanced expression of your circuitry with your Incarnation Cross, your channels and your “Big 5” planetary placements.
